Dang Soap Box Again---Sisters Go On
I am not too proud to recognize I need women
and I am not just referring to sexual desire
it's a truism of a most general nature
starts with the obvious
for I was not born in a test tube
My father yes a wonderful soul
but there are some things I look at now
and conclude yes "mother knew best"
from my undergraduate choice
to a short term intrigue with law school
mother wit knew I was not the right fit
The stats back me up in every way
single men don't live as the married no way
and even thought I am not currently wed
my sister in law is my next door neighbor
growing up Jewish she makes sure I am at least fed
And indeed my closet friend that I have met
since moving to Oregon is like a sister of another mother to me
we deal with the same mental illness
and she even has two phds
that is addition to her interest in fields that I dwelt in for years
sports, music, politics and the like
she gives a perspective that balances out the testosterone
For while I am not here to do male bashing 101
can you recall a war like that of Ancient Greece
where women savaged each of to the degree suggested
in that tale of Troy?
yes we have all heard the term cat fight
but they generally don't have the tight of bodily damages
that men can inflict on others from just fighting
over a little ball less that half their size in athletics
Hearts attacks, high blood pressure and other calamities
the male is just taught to suck it up
often waiting until the illness gets even worse
even the marrieds live shorter lives
and the other hand a man gets a cold and
is reduced to whimpering like a infant
oh slight in degree compared to giving birth!
My only fear is the rush to favor equality
brings forth that any woman should be embraced for leadership
as if gender single handedly is equated with quality
woman have capacity to be just as vindictive and ruthless as men
and there are those that try to outdo then
the old axiom hold's true:
don't try to outdo---it is your uniqueness, sweet sister
that may save us yet
In the end we don't need to savagely compete
together we can make forge teams that can't be beat
stop thinking of zero-sum games
for that is what will lead society down the drain
