When you see my chocolate brown skin
The clothes that I wear
My curved half smile
The style of my hair
What goes through your mind?
Place judgement upon me
From my style and my pigment?
From the time that you saw me
Till the time that you cut me
From your distorted vision
You made a puzzle of me
But your biggest piece was missing
You know me not from any corner of your life
My struggles that I've survived
Or any of my decisions...
Delinquent!?
Dont even wanna hear it
I know you dont either
But heres the truth if you can bear it
I've learned manners from my Mom
And respect from my Dad
They've weilded me intellegence
And every value that they've had
If society was a job
We'd have to fill out an acceptance form
Even the most beautiful rose
Stems with stressing thorns
Hypothesized actions
With no prior knowledge
The graduate is no greater
Than he who hasn't started college
But you simply can't SEE that...can you?
