Fondest Memory

By far my fondest memory, was of us sitting near the sun, just the two of us on that star for years, we really had some fun.
Throwing stones into the universe; from so far up above, working out the sun got hot through our eternal love.

From chasing blondes in Wonderland, catching clouds to drinking lakes
Our time in space tho’ magical, the icing on the cake

We took a trip via shooting star and warped the time away, we came out from that black hole; 10 lifetimes lost in age.
We danced away our teenage years through a great electric storm, sweeping through a cosmos filled with supernatural thoughts.

Playing poker with Jesus, Allah, Vishnu, Buddha – well all the greats
Our time in space tho’ magical, the icing on the cake

Some decades were full of mischief, changing constellations for a laugh, the big dipper seeing better days after we had laid it flat.
We shamed God with our own big bang, such power that we felt, we thought we’d up the ante -
Loosening Orion’s belt.

Riding next to Santa and smoking Batman’s gear was great
Our time in space tho’ magical, the icing on the cake

I dared you to try dark matter, you dared me to do the same, we both heard distant warnings in open space – through the waves.
Spellbound by awesome forces, watching good and bad play tig, the dark stuff that we tried before, now our constant gig.

Surviving Pan’s and Bowie’s labyrinth, jumping cracks left by earthquakes,
Our time in space tho’ magical, the icing on the cake

We got hooked on the dark stuff, and God He sees it all, He decided to teach us a lesson; as then began our fall
A planet Earth He gave us; to help us rehabilitate, all alone in paradise, what beauty he can create.

Skipping with a rainbow, trying to ignore the snake
Our time in space tho’ magical, the icing on the cake

She had to taste the apple; from the forbidden tree, she needed to replace the dark matter, then passed it on to me.
We floated around the garden; at peace and feeling free, the snake was there to join us, unwanted company.

Playing with God’s patience, always on the take
Our time in space tho’ magical, the icing on the cake

Forever banished from that garden, God’s love has all but gone; we broke the only rule He gave and now we’re frowned upon
God does forgive and spared our lives; though we tainted all we had, He bestowed a final blessing; we are the first mum and dad

What joy beheld from one so small, something only love can create,
Our time in space tho’ magical, the icing on the cake

By far my fondest memory, was of us sitting near the sun, just the two of us on that star for years, we really had some fun.
We aged despairing we had failed God; in amongst the good, remembering how the sun got hot through our eternal love
