Night in Christmas Past
It was one night in Christmas past
The sky was dull and Grey
The hymns were trying to frighten
the greyness from the air
A sprite from tunnels of time
Sprung out from the gloom
Worshipper of those who gave
blood sacrifices
It sniffed around
And started to mewl
Turn into a scream
Its god had been forgotten
No longer to Saturn
Did they forward their jubilations
It was to the son of man
It never met the son before
It stumbled away into the night
Puny and meek, so weak
Behind it bells jingled
It went over the edge
Falling into the abyss
It heard the last refrain
Peace on earth
Goodwill to men.
The sky was dull and Grey
The hymns were trying to frighten
the greyness from the air
A sprite from tunnels of time
Sprung out from the gloom
Worshipper of those who gave
blood sacrifices
It sniffed around
And started to mewl
Turn into a scream
Its god had been forgotten
No longer to Saturn
Did they forward their jubilations
It was to the son of man
It never met the son before
It stumbled away into the night
Puny and meek, so weak
Behind it bells jingled
It went over the edge
Falling into the abyss
It heard the last refrain
Peace on earth
Goodwill to men.
