The Body as a Garden of Eden

The brain is made up of two hemispheres:
The Left and the Right.
One deals with rationality,
The other with emotion,intuition.
One corresponds to the male, the other to the female.
If we can call them Adam and Eve figures,
Then the body that the brain dwells in
Can be thought of as a Garden of Eden.
Put another way, the Soul and Spirit dwell in the body
like Adam and Eve in Eden's Garden.

The various internal organs of the body, by extension
Are analogous to the flora, fauna in the ancient garden.
The four rivers run faintly parallel
To the 4 chambers of the heart.

But like there was a snake in Eden,
So too in the body dwells a serpentine organ.
The penis rises up like a king cobra.
Like an arrogant snake is the aroused phallus.
The scrotum, uptight,between the legs
Hangs down "forbidden fruit"-like.
But if we can control the penis
(And its female equivalent, the clitoris),
We can avoid experiencing anew
The Fall of Man on an individual, personal basis.
Paradise need not be lost!
All we have to do is obey God's command in Genesis One:
"Have dominion over the animals"
Including the "animal" within each of us.
Christ's self-sacrifice (and example) makes it possible.
