My Guitar

She's not enough
Can't keep away from you
And she'll never know
A chord change

She's a little deaf
Can't resonate with me
No melody in tongue and voice
That's not changing

Don't need love
Callous worn fingertips
I'm just right beside my guitar

The end of me
Hymns no one knows
Growing old with my guitar

She's frosty today
Well agitated and unloved
I can't break our bonds
As much as I try

A waste of time
That six string you carry
It's not a habit, it's my first love
No use in complaining

Don't need love
Callous worn fingertips
I'm just right beside my guitar

The end of me
Hymns no one knows
Growing old with my guitar

Your all material
Want more than I can provide
Had a dime, now it's gone
Love once enough

It's better this way
Your unsatisfied every time
And I have affections for another
The musician within me

Don't need love
Callous worn fingertips
I'm just right beside my guitar

The end of me
Hymns no one knows
Growing old with my guitar
