IN THE SAND

I've written my pain in the sand
Using the prints on my hand

I've scribbled my sorrows by the waters
In hopes they'd wash and scatter

in the sand I wrote my fears
With droplets of my tears

I wrote your name in the sand
The waters washed it away


In the sand I wrote a goodbye in my blood
And prayed my goodbye would not be washed away

I stood there and watched
As the waters washed my soul away
