Pipe Dreams
I have decided...
To obliterate my dreams...
Seeing how..
real life has a way
Of changing ... certain things
Taking my thoughts.. to extremes
Bringin my hopes..to its knees
I swear sometimes...
I cant see the forest
for the trees
As I try to hold on to hope
yet it slides threw my fingers
In the breeze...
Like grains of sand...
Some shit in this life
Is too complicated
On a scale too grand...
Yet they say I was born..
To Overstand
Every strand
Make the winds move
At my command
Have power like Moses
to part the red sea...
Yet I ...
can't even part
with the pain
inside ...of me
Cause Life aint like
those butterfly kisses
Champaign smiles
Or wealthy well wishes
Life is the bite
Like winters cold
Life is the story
with a twist that unfolds
and..
I wonder if it's too much
for me to be
succesful in my own right
I don't wanna steal no shows
I just wanna shine in my own light
I wanna win...
without always havin to fight
I want the arms of a real love
to hold me...late at night
Then suddenly
I feel like I've been hit
Reality just came and smacked
The dog shit...
Right outa me
As I feel like a fiend
tryin to hold on to hope
Like some good dope to smoke
chasing after...

Felt this. The want to cry, rail, scream!, trash it all and start over. It shouldn't have to be so hard... off-balance again. But there's a thin line of hope tied off, anchored, unmoving. It's still there. You have a beautiful way of expressing the hard stuff, Fire. So thankful you share it.
