"I don't know why, the sky is so blue
And I don't know why, I'm so in love with you
But if there were no music
Then I would not get through"
I can't say why, I always cry when I hear that song
think of peoples' lives who ended oh so wrong
If life was always a bowl of cherries
Would there be challenges and things to do
"I don't know why, I know these things
But I do"
I can't explain why despite the hurtful things I do
You have stuck around and gave me something true
Help me deal with all the scars
When I didn't have a clue
"I don't know why, but somewhere dreams come true
And I don't know where, but there will be a place for you
And every time you look that way
I would lay down my life for you
""I don't know why, I know these things
But I do"

yeah, not sure if I will ever be using Prince's "Starfish and Coffee" or Paul McCartney's "C Moon", however! :)
If you are in a band, we have much in common, as you do with a few other people whose poetry I read much here.

well my mom was born in 1924, dad was born in 1928, my brother is 11 years older, and I was in a recreational band of teachers who were 10-15 years older than me.
Now let me tell you a story about growing up with JS Bach...

Now, you know I had to Google the song after reading this, right? You and Archie are always exposing me to songs I never heard that I fall in love with. Your words engulf the inspiration of the song perfectly. Beautiful piece, Ted! Xo

Well in this case, the title is also used for a song by Norah Jones, and you know who her father is...

I don't why, either, but for the most part...I'm glad that I do. Love is one big bundle o' adversity. It's usually worth it.
Some really good rhythm & rhymes here. Maybe the only thing more inspirational than the power of love is a really great lyric about the power of love. Enjoyed this piece. Thank you for sharing the undefinition, sir.

I would like to take credit but the real effort was with Shawn Colvin, the writer of the song.
Thanks for the read.

Jazzmanor I have never heard much of Shawn Colvin, but if you can take a song and tweak it in your own way, then that only tells me...SKILL.

I would call her contemporary folk. Her first album, "Steady On", is my favorite release. Won a Grammy in 1997 for "Sunny Came Home". Also does a great job on two covers; "Naive Melody" (Talking Heads) and "All Would Envy" (Sting)
