Beauty

His eyes scan every curve
of a body beaten around
constantly by
the need for validation.
Every head given
to the lusts of nature
Ravenous beasts feasting on her
chest in glances.

If it were your mother,
what would you want?
If it were your mother,
what would you want him
to want?

They judge and see her fit
not even knowing her name or
from whence she came.
Because it is only skin deep and
nobody knows that in her is a
brilliant soul.

She will never know that one day
someone would say
I can tell you are beautiful by your eyes.
You are more precious than anything else that exists.
You are worth much more than you think you are.
Queen.

Whoever said beauty is only skin deep lied.
Beauty is not to be found in the company of
vanity.
Beauty is hid in the heart.
Only willing hearts find it.
Only honest hearts see it.
Only believing hearts seek it.

Men ought not to be predators.
Women ought not to walk themselves to the slaughterhouse called bed
nightly.

My beauty is not between my thighs or
in my bra.
My beauty is in the words spoken by
my eyes.
