Marrow Melodies

I feel like a lonely blinking light with no ship to reprise
A lighthouse shutdown and the color of a lingering marrow
I'd rather tear apart than create, but isn't it the same?
I hate this place, where justice is a cardboard game with no rules
I only find light in loving the unloved
I only know puzzles that are unsolved
Your pastime stones aren't worth there as much as they are here

The real glories are found in stories with no dripped ink
There's sweet and sour in the waters that we'll both sink
And I won't even bother to take the time needed to think
I'll figure the unprecedented weather in the length of a blink

No such thing as a gentle sin or a crafty smile
My marrow's unbeaten, shredded and all alone
Too far away to see if blood's red or black
I've done my best to fuck this up, it appears to be working
The stench of failure crowds my room
No such emotional grin, I discard my broken bones
And place my hopes over an altar dedicated to a stale wing

Takes too long, I know it does
I'd wait a bit more, at least that's what I try to do
Each day closer to being far

Unbeaten marrow, bloody state
Unbeaten marrow, bloody state
