Promise to never leave
"I promise you I'll never leave you."
I've heard this too many times
like it's on repeat,
or broken record player.
You fall in love with a boy.
He says he loves you too,
and he promises to never leave you.
Your love for him has blinded you.
Look at yourself now.
You are devastated because he broke his promise.
He left you.
What is love?
As a teenager how long do you expect love to last?
You have your whole life ahead of you,
and you decide to fall in love first.
Your heart ache has just begun.
People will walk in and out your life.
One of the hardest promises to ever keep is:
" I promise you I'll never leave you."

I say you are a talent that captures the soul. How do you do it? I mean your poems many can relate, for how many times have we heard the words I love you forever, to only find out forever is just a mere moment. Thank you, thank you, and again thank you. A work of pure poetic perfection.

Yes I do agree with you but when I was writing it boy just fit better for me but it can go either way.
