Pavement cracked
Flightless now,
wings torn to shreds

Lennon said
But I’m not shining on

Broken halo turned to stone
Lifeless glare and I’m alone
While He sits,
laughing on His throne
The grace of Heaven, gone

An angel,
fallen,
tied in knots
Cast out by Him
and left to rot
For all of time ‘neath granite plot
His symphony plays on

Salt-less tears drift to the ground
I am now lost, though once was found
Stripped of honor,
peace
and crowned
