Moving on
Is there perhaps
A place
Where all the
Butterflies go
After having left
The stomachs of lovers
Fallen out
Of love?

Where all the
Butterflies go
After having left
The stomachs of lovers
Fallen out
Of love?

So you tell me they just circulate?
That would mean we only get
second hand butterflies, ever!
Now I'm brooding about
second hand love ...
Thanks for the input, J.!

Perhaps the butterflies are nervously
hanging around in case of a
reconciliation ;)

That might be the case since
they seem to flutter around
without any destination at all.
So they just hang around.
Nice idea. Thanks, d.!

Miss Chi,
I think they are destined to be consumed in the resulting flame....only to be born again in each new spark ; ) Very thought worthy write! Enjoyed!!!

Ahh, so poetic!
Consumed in the resulting flame ...
rising again like the Phoenix.
I like that idea!
Thank you, tornado, for the thought worthy comment!

Whoa! Don't they??? Oh ... I thought so, too :-)! Thank you for that inspiring image, CheshiresDream! Perhaps those bubbles will make it into a poem some day :-)! And there they will stay - forever!

butterflies must need love and peace to float through life so whistfully, maybe they go up to the heavens to be reborn to new life and new lovers

That's another very good thought what butterflies might do once they've served their purpose. Thank you so much for your lovely comment!

No doubt those who went through the 'butterflies in stomach' moments in relationships that later came to nothing may ask themselves what the fuss was about?

Exactly Solomon, that's why I'm trying to gather responses to my question: Where have all the butterflies gone ... Thank you for stopping by! I very much appreciate you sharing my thoughts.

The title reminded me of the Yoko Ono song on John Lennon's last studio album, called "I'm Moving On". Fortunately the content of the poem, which is short and sweet, is nothing like the Ono's singing voice, which for the most part, I try to avoid. Luckily as a humanitarian she is fairly decent except for the way she treated Julian right after the murder.

Thank you very much for the amiable comment, Jazzmanor! I will not pass the poem on to Ono for intonation, promised :-)! I don't know how she treated Julian but I will look that up!

no big deal...he has recovered nicely. He and George's son are my favorite Beatle kids. His "Photograph Smile" is a collection that I believe his father would be proud of.

Oh, Vee, never say never! Some thoughts come to our mind and just have to be 'poemed'. Any suggestion from your side where they might go? Thank you kindly for your sweet comment!

Oh. Among the night moths ... At least there they can stand out through their bright colors. You're welcome, Liz, feed your thoughts and your poms with butterflies!
Re: Moving on

all to the same faraway place, I think: unemployed butterflies, discarded love poems, broken hearts...

re: Re: Moving on
Somewhere must be a heap of discarded and broken things ... Is it perhaps invisible to our eyes?
Thanks, John.
Thanks, John.

I thank your poetic mind for this lovely comment! Since I lately released a bunch of squirming butterflies, sadly watching them disappear, I've asked myself ... where are the're going? And hey! Is there a place for discarded butterflies? Perhaps somewhere?

You think so?
Do those fragile little
creatures have the
strength to survive
the pain of
shattered love?
Then again, it's a soothing thought.
Thank you for stoppig by and
leaving a great idea!
