The Cycle Back
When the sails unfurled
A long time ago
And they said come
I turned away
This time round
I would sail
With them
When he gave me that ring
And I wore it
On my finger
Shackled my feet, my heart
This time I would smile
Look into his cheating eyes
And say no
When that moment
To go on a plane
Or to wander back
Into my jungle
Be now
I would walk back
To where I belong
Regrets
Doesn’t matter
Now it’s too late
But if I could
If Only.
