I took a long vacation to my cabin by the shore
And paddled in my kayak till my shoulders got too sore
Then I’d do some big boy jobs and run back to the store
Fetching nails and boards and such to build it even more
Where birds n’ fish n’ wild things and nature’s there galore
There was no TV or radio nor papers with the score
I simply had the best of times, cathartic for my core

I took some time to reinvent and find myself again
Seeking solace in the place where childhood began
Traveling to the one room school, I marveled at the past
Wondered through the woods n’ said “Home again at last.”
I watched the sun go down every night that I was there
And Jimmy Buffet sang me songs about life without a care
