This is a story about drowning and crashing, but maybe, there's a happy ending.
She was a train wreck,
all smashed in like a crash test
doing 160 on a straight away
down the road to his heart.
She missed the exit, and rolled
fifteen times head over heal,
trying to pick up the pieces
as it all fell apart.
He was the shoreline,
that sent the tides away
after the water’s clingy hands
reached for his face.
With every heart he broke,
he would also break his own,
and the waves carried the pieces away
in granules
out to sea.
Now, I don’t think that either
is what the other one needs,
but maybe there’s a happy ending.
Yes, maybe.
