Fear
Drunk out of our heads
We wobbled to the nearest bench
down by the stray streets
of our silent city
We laughed freely without shame
Made funny sounds to cheer
Our sad hearts up
Held half-full bottles of Glenfiddich
Forcing our tongues to get
accustomed to the
foreign, bitter taste
When you said "I love you"
we hurried along the dark corners,
laughing still,
And I pretended I wasn't afraid
at the drunk devotion in your voice
You always spoke truth in your drunk state...
We wobbled to the nearest bench
down by the stray streets
of our silent city
We laughed freely without shame
Made funny sounds to cheer
Our sad hearts up
Held half-full bottles of Glenfiddich
Forcing our tongues to get
accustomed to the
foreign, bitter taste
When you said "I love you"
we hurried along the dark corners,
laughing still,
And I pretended I wasn't afraid
at the drunk devotion in your voice
You always spoke truth in your drunk state...
