Buk warned me
it's in one of his books
about people who hitch a ride
the ones who tag along
to invite themselves into
your world
They call you up
and arrive at the door
with a six pack or worse
Jeans pockets
filled with crumpled poems
Never let them in
unless they're a woman
with big eyes
then it's different
only the sadder the eyes
the more trouble they
bring with them
and the harder they are to
get rid of.
