Craving
Sit down
Stand up
I’ve done the dishes
Folded the laundry
Put the clothes away
Sit down
Stand up
I itch
And I burn
For the numb on my tongue
Or the burn in my nose
Something
Anything
To satisfy this need
My head is spinning
Can’t sit still
But can’t keep moving
Up and down
Pacing
Going from room to room
Trying to hide
From this desire
Need and longing
I’ve surpassed the sickness
Of withdrawal’s
So many years ago
But those cravings come
And I can’t focus
Sit down
Stand up
What do I have in my cupboards
Something will have to do
Maybe it’s time to visit my doc
See what he can get me
Legally
Do I have any left from last time
Two
I got two left
But will that do
It will have to
Pick it up
Put it down
Throw it across the room
Sit down
Stand up
Sit down
Scream into a pillow
Stand up
I’ve done the dishes
Folded the laundry
Put the clothes away
Sit down
Stand up
I itch
And I burn
For the numb on my tongue
Or the burn in my nose
Something
Anything
To satisfy this need
My head is spinning
Can’t sit still
But can’t keep moving
Up and down
Pacing
Going from room to room
Trying to hide
From this desire
Need and longing
I’ve surpassed the sickness
Of withdrawal’s
So many years ago
But those cravings come
And I can’t focus
Sit down
Stand up
What do I have in my cupboards
Something will have to do
Maybe it’s time to visit my doc
See what he can get me
Legally
Do I have any left from last time
Two
I got two left
But will that do
It will have to
Pick it up
Put it down
Throw it across the room
Sit down
Stand up
Sit down
Scream into a pillow
