Into The Abyss

They say if you stare into the abyss long enough,
it soon stares back into you.
But what if I dove head first,
with nothing else to lose?
Send me to a fantasy land,
a grave of fireflies.
As the land trickles slowly,
away from the non-forgiving light.
Tell me where I'll be going,
as soon as the breath escapes my lungs.
My final destination,
oh I hope it'll be fun.

This life I've lived on Earth, has been quite a ride.
From Ferris wheels to bloody palms,
and plenty of shouts!
I'll never forget those deep blue waters,
I swam in as a kid.
Nor the bright green pastures,
I always played in.
And the greatest memory of all,
watching over you.
From behind the oak or behind the school,
forever stalking you.
Till one night I waited,
you leaving your mothers house.
To this moment I wished,
to be one to never let out.
Grabbing you close from behind.
Don't let the cloth scare you, I really am kind.

So now back to my falling, will there be no end?
To suffer like I made the others,
reprimanding that beautiful girls death.
Forever trickling down in this abyss.
I'm a lonely man,
I know I won't be missed.
But next time a shallow man like me decides to die.
I hope they fall endlessly into the abyss,
to look back and watch mankind.
