Candlelight
The shimmer of youth has darkened
Old wounds have been reopened
Scratches never go away
Scars never fade
I feel myself destruct as I age
Second by minute by hour by
Only a day has passed
But I've gained years
Keeping my head above water
Is what my days consist of
And I swear the good times are killing me
Everything that is no longer mine
Mocks me when I sleep
Every happy memory
And every what used to
Just pulls me farther down
Fragments of thoughts are scattered around me
A harsh reminder of life’s uncertainty
Searching by candlelight
That continues to grow weak
Searching by candlelight
For the person I used to see
Old wounds have been reopened
Scratches never go away
Scars never fade
I feel myself destruct as I age
Second by minute by hour by
Only a day has passed
But I've gained years
Keeping my head above water
Is what my days consist of
And I swear the good times are killing me
Everything that is no longer mine
Mocks me when I sleep
Every happy memory
And every what used to
Just pulls me farther down
Fragments of thoughts are scattered around me
A harsh reminder of life’s uncertainty
Searching by candlelight
That continues to grow weak
Searching by candlelight
For the person I used to see
