Drink from Me
This little town, it ain’t really much
Outwardly anyway
But it reminds me of home
And nostalgia sets in
Just for a bit
I don’t have time for that
I can’t think straight
Hardly slept since my truck broke down
And you’ve been showin’ me around
Social, I’m not
So I hope all your friends don’t
Take me for a snob
My heart is confused
Watching you get on with
The daily interaction
I’m a stranger here
In more ways than one
Fleeting attraction
Just a moment or two
Has been all I’ve known
So, forgive me when I don’t know
Where to go next
Or what is that next step
Starting slowly
No need to rush
Except for our tongues
We barely know each other
A drink tonight
I really shouldn’t
But I find my prettiest outfit
Can’t believe I’m dressing up
With just a touch of paint upon my eyes
No need for blush
You bring it out natural
I hope I don’t fall in these heels
Pacing, back and forth
Around in circles
This is so stupid
I don’t have to go
I can hide in this room
‘Till my Baby’s ready to go
She’ll take me outta this town
But when you knock on the door
I can’t hide anymore
You know I’m here
I know you know I haven’t gone anywhere
So I open the door
And let the natural blush finish painting my cheeks
I let you in which was a mistake
The door shuts on its own
Leaving only the silence
I think I heard a pin drop
I’d hand you a drink
But I have nothing to offer
You disagree as you lift up my skirt
To take a drink from me
Outwardly anyway
But it reminds me of home
And nostalgia sets in
Just for a bit
I don’t have time for that
I can’t think straight
Hardly slept since my truck broke down
And you’ve been showin’ me around
Social, I’m not
