Distant Mountains
Distant mountains sit
scanning for freer days
Patient as mountains are
I feel their changelessness
through air and trees and clouds
They’ll wait for me

Every time I try to run from myself
I end up running into myself.
I'm here at the airport, I'll wait
2 hours for you, then I'm gone.

Even mountains change, given enough time. So glad their clocks are slower than ours.

very graceful

Yes, Kitty, you are correct. In fact it is
a sestet with 34 syllables, five in the first and last lines, six in the second through fifth lines.

I had enough time to watch
those mountains from afar, everyday,
and come up with a poem.
