Drowning Light
The sunlight wanes,
The black curtain is drawn once again,
Time to drown the light away.
Another time-clock punched,
Drifting through the day,
Drinking on your lunch,
Time to drown the light away.
And this place no longer feels like home,
All your time is spent alone,
The bottle hides
These feelings inside,
And makes the night a time to roam.
Another day comes,
Your mind has gone numb,
Time to drown the light away.
The darkness remains,
The chessboard of day
Brings nothing but pain,
Time to drown the light away.
The good times have somehow lost their fun,
Many paths have merged into one,
The days are too long,
The drinks are too strong,
Your eyes are blinded by the sun.
The sunlight wanes,
The black curtain is drawn once again,
Time to drown the light away.
The black curtain is drawn once again,
Time to drown the light away.
Another time-clock punched,
Drifting through the day,
Drinking on your lunch,
Time to drown the light away.
And this place no longer feels like home,
All your time is spent alone,
The bottle hides
These feelings inside,
And makes the night a time to roam.
Another day comes,
Your mind has gone numb,
Time to drown the light away.
The darkness remains,
The chessboard of day
Brings nothing but pain,
Time to drown the light away.
The good times have somehow lost their fun,
Many paths have merged into one,
The days are too long,
The drinks are too strong,
Your eyes are blinded by the sun.
The sunlight wanes,
The black curtain is drawn once again,
Time to drown the light away.
