"The Fire that Burned."

I still remember that day
vividly although 20 years ago
I was in meditation and a
vision came upon showing me
what was to come

As I sat around a fire with
three other men, there was
such warmth and joy as I
talked and laughed and we all
spoke as friends
But somewhere in the midst of
our fellowship I arose and
began to walk away as they
wondered and called-out for
me to return and to not leave

As I walked farther away the
atmosphere began to grow darker
and colder and I could barely
make out the fire now; at this
distance it only looked like a
flickering flame and the voices
of the men were no longer
understandable in my ears

It wasn't long after this that
I did what we all do, began to
live life as I wanted to just
like we all do and walked-away
from what I was taught as a
young man
Gradually the world grew darker
and colder just like in the
vision from 20 years earlier and
I experienced and did things that
I never should've

But now I'm entering back in through
those gates from which I once
departed and am beginning to feel
the welcoming warmth of the hearth
of this Blessed Home-coming
The atmosphere of the Presence that
feels this place is joyous and
rewarding and shines light from out
of my face

I can feel the Winds of the Graces
of His emanation blowing upon me and
tempering the hurtful desires that once
brought me low, so that I can overcome
them and let them from within me be
let go

"If I swim against the current of this
world and perish in its undertow, then
it's not because I do not have a Hope
that ineffectual, because it is; it is
far-reaching and trans-descends from
the Heavens and into my soul always
pulling me forward till I rise above the
atmosphere that surrounds this world:
one of hurtful lusts and desires that
keep me in the chains of pains and lies,
that exude from the hearts of men,
creating a blackness that can be seen
thru the eyes,"

"He has been set far above all principality, and power, and might, and dominion, and every name that is named , not only in this world, but also in that which is to come:
