My Missing Friend

What happened to us, my friend?
We used to be so close once,
And talk throughout the night
Until the early morning.

Everything has changed though,
Now you are a stranger to me
And we barely ever talk now.
How did this end up happening?

Was it that I did something wrong,
Not do something I should have,
Do you just not need me now,
Or are you just as busy as you seem?

You are happily remarried now
But have distanced yourself.
Was this on purpose my friend
Or just happenstance?

The romantic feelings I had
Have all faded away by now,
Though were they still there
I'd never compromise your bliss.

Of all my friends over the years,
I have trusted you the most.
That you do not reply to me
Breaks my heart into pieces.

I miss our talks so much and
I still need your support.
Please come back to me
And show me I am not abandoned.
