Opposed Forces

As torrents rage
inside untamed abyss

one look in the eyes
dictates something's amiss

freedom's call unheard within
steady barrage of hope can't break in

wish the well,  a once upon a time tale
blind, sight can't see nor read in braille

darkness sits in  exquisite comfort at home
higher power elucidates possibilities shown

feverishly fighting,
savagely unkind
long, and hard fought
the embattled mind
yet shadowed,
evil's hold upon the heart,
another round won,
at least one, this time...
