NO CURE (From the Not Quite a Love Poem Collection)
How could I have missed it...
That Subterranean leak ...oozing from my soul
silently infecting
My good reason...
My good judgment...
Till I believe I hallucinated
The goodness I once saw in you
Somehow...I became... infected
Infected with the rush of the world
Seeking..
Needing to know...
Everything
Instead of taking the time to perfect
a few things....
I lost sight somewhere...
I forgot what was important
I became what I most despised
defeated by the shadow in my mind...
Allowing the darkness
To override good reason.
When I peered into your soul
I became hypnotized by the depths
of your fluid darkness...
Lulled into the Midnight....
Of your Madness...
I danced with you...
Under the pale moons light
Offering up My Essence...
I stared into the Abyss that is You
I let you see my soul
I know you saw no malice there...
Yet...You still hurt me...
You still tried to erase me...
Even though I showed you the truth.
I thought knowing the depth of someone's love
Would enable you to choose...
The right thing
Alas..
Realization sets in...
As surely as a fever...
You were never meant to Love me...
Now I see
There is No Cure for you...
You never intended me
anything ...but harm
You were
Always...
A Deceiver
That Subterranean leak ...oozing from my soul
silently infecting
My good reason...
My good judgment...
Till I believe I hallucinated
The goodness I once saw in you
Somehow...I became... infected
Infected with the rush of the world
Seeking..

This was intense and moved about, raising emotions that turn back upon themselves like watching ink swirling in water. A fine ride, Ms. Firebyrd!

Lady Rain...
Your Ink Touches our souls here
If I can learn to deliver a poem like you do
Then.... will I have accomplished something!
XOXO

Knowing how music so dominates my world it probably doesn't surprise you that I think of this as the tunes of Paul Simon being met by the lines of a horror novel. You craft is in fine form here.

"Love is blind"-for a time and the masks that many wear--sad it is and tarnishes the light for a bit in the soul---This was such a moving Piece Dear Fire-You captured the dark sadness spot on!!!
