Rotting Prison
The world is black and white,
a shadow lost in endless mist
silence screams in the hearts
of those who drown in noise
sunlight burns our skin
like flames burn away at paper
black rain seeps from the sky
as blood seeps from a wound
drowning us in darkness
seconds slip away into oblivion
and Death stalks closer, waiting
winters chill fills the air
but the earth is without a season
bleak, empty, desolate
devoid of life and meaning
the world is a rotting prison
