Raining Cats, Dogs and Syringes
There’s a hurricane in my stomach, sounds
Of thunder pounding in my heart
And my palms are sweating from a feverish
Heat wave with no shade to cool off under
It’s the same storm which raged back then
Only now, I’m not as used to the wind
I’m nauseous from the rapid changes in
Temperature, pressure building in my head
I can feel it in my teeth, this storm is a whirlwind
Took less than a minute to suck me back in
I’d forgotten how euphoric the hurricane is
Just wanted to remember how bright the
Lightning had once been, didn’t think those
Bolts would jolt me back to life again
And as of now, I don't yet feel defeated
But I know I will when the fog begins clearing
Only wanted to remember but now
I’m trapped inside this fierce tornado,
Holding an emptied syringe.
Of thunder pounding in my heart
And my palms are sweating from a feverish
Heat wave with no shade to cool off under
It’s the same storm which raged back then
Only now, I’m not as used to the wind
I’m nauseous from the rapid changes in
Temperature, pressure building in my head
I can feel it in my teeth, this storm is a whirlwind
Took less than a minute to suck me back in
I’d forgotten how euphoric the hurricane is
Just wanted to remember how bright the
Lightning had once been, didn’t think those
Bolts would jolt me back to life again
And as of now, I don't yet feel defeated
But I know I will when the fog begins clearing
Only wanted to remember but now
I’m trapped inside this fierce tornado,
Holding an emptied syringe.
