beauty from darkness
Beauty can be seen
Seen through the eyes of human beings
Most of us see a world of misery and suffering
But through my eyes you will see I live without a care,
Building a life that is modest and fair
Out of my darkest days I was reborn
Reborn from the hatred within
Facing my sin, I battled to win
Win back the life that I once knew
Where I lost it, I did not have clue
It was then that I realized that to become a better you
I have to go back to face the things that made me black and blue
The darkness that once consumed might become my tomb
Scared to death of what was there I looked inside and began to stare
Stare into the eyes of the demon
A tormented soul it tried to take hold
I slashed and we crashed deeper into hell
The harder I fought the deeper we fell
We hit the floor yes now it is my time to settle a score
I took a hold of its horns
it twisted and scorned
telling me to let go,
yes I finally locked my elbow,
deep around its neck I began to flex gasping for air it cried in despair,
it began to go limp I slowly let go
I have defeated my foe
I arose a new man full of wisdom and a plan,
a plan to start a new,
free of the world where the wickedness grew
See the darkness derived from within
It was my fight and my fight alone
For it was me who sat on that dark throne
I was in a war with myself
fighting the addiction and the self infliction, consuming the good around me
Like a tornado spinning, ripping, defying
The beauty that has arisen from my prison is a place similar to that of Oz
A man once lost without a cause
Once a man that people feared
Now a man that stands proudly with his peers
to gain the knowledge lost with time,
the knowledge of life and everything else that is so divine
Seen through the eyes of human beings
Most of us see a world of misery and suffering
But through my eyes you will see I live without a care,
Building a life that is modest and fair
Out of my darkest days I was reborn
Reborn from the hatred within
