Push away everyone close to me
Pull back from all who care
Break when everything becomes too much
This is a vicious cycle without end
I don't know how to break it myself
And a part of me doesn't want to
I know I can't do it alone
But how can I succeed
In this battle with my depression
Sooner or later, again and again
Everyone who tries to help
Gets removed from my life eventually

Indeed they do. Goodbyes can be necessary, but are all the more painful when they feel premature. Knowing everything happens for a reason doesn't help when you don't understand what the reason is.
