Hide and Seek

She's out there
somewhere
but I'm afraid
to meet her
because I can't stay
sober.

Maybe I was never
meant to find love;
the drunkard
whose life may as well be
over.

So drop dead
roses at my grave;
all I deserve is thorns,
no beauty remains.

Cold rain creates
water stains on the page;
a child at heart,
afraid
to face the day.

Scared to hurt her
feelings,
can't stand to see
another girl lead astray.
