You, me and us three!

Looking out my window
Trying to understand
Why a woman stands before me
But it’s a girl who holds my hand
One that shares the moment
with no concept of time?
Wide eyed hopeful innocence
But graciously sublime
So much so that I forget
As we are each in tune
That the other apple of my eye
may reappear quite soon
what if the girl should take my heart
and her protectorate disagree
diving in to ‘save’ her
tearing her away from me
will this woman always
be watching in this way
will she let her have her head
or fear that she might stray
how long can she keep this up
this struggle, this illusion
feeding the girl’s inner fears
adding to her confusion
maybe if she took a hand
as I am holding too
and together we support the girl
in what she wants to do
then sure me and this woman
would come close and unite
and share Miss Carefree’s happiness,
join in her delight
bring so much within her grasp
the three of us as one
abandoned pure enjoyment
a menage a trois‘d be fun!!!
