Belly of the beast

 I'm merely just a shadow,
a drifter in the night.
A man of many voices,
a being shunned from light.

Through the black abyss,
I pass a wanderer by.
His brittle hands they point at me,
then at the bloodstained sky.

He doesn't speak a word and continues on his path,
even with his silents his eyes insanely laugh.

I pay the man no mind,
for I'm just as lost as he.
I've lost my mortal body
now damned for eternity.

For in this realm I wonder,
the smell of death lingers from the deceased.
As if a plague has played a game
and with our soul forever keeps.

Only left with thoughts,
from the past life that we've lived.
So selfishly we choose to walk the path we did.

Now waiting in this nothingness,
Where flesh becomes a feast.
Step right down my friend and join me
in the belly of the beast.......
