Completely Amsterdamned
Near the windmills
of rural Holland
I lost my beanie
while walking
from the place I stayed
to Schiphol airport
because I spent
all of my money
and time sitting
next to people
I didn't know in
coffee shops I can't
remember and I stared
at the tiled floors of my
hotel's bathroom
to find out
that i was two days
late for my flight.
It took me 531 kilometres
and my remaining two days
in London to notice
my beanie was gone.

A great piece. I'm not always good at relating or expressing relating to things that others have been through, though I can somewhat relate to this piece--in some small ways. No, I have never left my home country. But anyway, great piece, everything expressed quite well I think, though my opinion isn't paramount--but in the third from the last line of the first stanza, I think you probably meant "find" when you said "found."
I have not read enough of you yet. I should, and I will. I'm not sure if it's going to be at this moment, but it will be soon at least.
