Knight in Shining Armor

Where is my Knight in shining armor?
When will he rescue me?
I have been trapped here in this tower
For an eternity

Rusted and weathered locks on the door
That keep all people out
Containing me in these four walls
Where no one hears me shout

There was no evil godmother
Who stuck me here inside
Alas it was a small girl
Who needed to desperately hide

So sad I am to be alone
But it is how it’s always been
The truth of the person that I am
Is rarely ever seen

Please find me Sir, I need you
More than you’ll ever know
An eon I have been here
The tears they often flow

I cannot find my freedom
Although I have often tried
I am stuck here in this prison
And I fear my heart has died

I am a damsel in distress
Who sorely needs your aid
With every day that passes
My hope begins to fade

I do not want to give up
But it is so hard to see
That there is a Knight in shining armor
Who will one day come for me…
