cycles & circles

I guess there’s only so much space
In this exquisite king’s dome
I guess there’s only so much we can take
Rewrite my right and wrong codes

Tried to soak up the darkness
Numbness like static
Soak up the silence
You fucking drunk gimme tha cup!
See what you did!
You stained the fabric
For fucksake it’s fragile
You soaked it
You broke it
You’re broken
Choke on it
Blanket stuffed down your mouth
Ingest it and I’ll rip your guts out
You won’t shake the shackles
Chained to your wrists and ankles
These things are imprinted
Carnal carousel that spins
Laced with dust unsettled
Slight alterations caused by alienation
Or subconscious reptilian behavior
Lack of a savior or of a working brain
I guess there’s only so much space
In any of these fine kingdoms
For pits of empty syringes
I guess there’s only so much we can take
Before the folds are all singed, before they
Cave in and unhinge
Throwing callous to the sins
I walk down the déjà vu halls
Call them that cos they all look the same
Walk past hundreds of doors
This place is like a maze
On the other side of them
People hide in shame
They’ve been out fighting all day
Now all they wanna do is play
Staring into the flickering frames
I find the right door and leave the hallway
Now I’m home safe and sound
Out of the bustle of the town
Left fiddling with my poison
Like a cat with a toxic rat
Play fighting with my veins
Until the concept of the game
Gets fuzzy, it drops like a bomb
The buzzkill, I’m not chasing
I’m running from the storm
That swells outside these safe walls
I see, I feel nothing at all
I guess there’s only so much I can take
Before I just switch off so I don’t overheat and brake
Off from the pack don’t know I can find my way back
I hear their howls but I hear other people’s screams
I headed the opposite way there was nothing left to say to them
We thought we had nothing so we started ourselves a war
And lost everything we couldn't hold onto before
