The Misleading Prologue

Lead me far from ideal plays
Of love that falls on enchanting eyes
That sees the youth and not the grey
That has no script for trying times.

Trying times do spoil our act
Its times like these that rookies run
Revealing the weakness of their pact
Reducing love to a pun.

And when they rehearse the same old scene
Rebukes thy love and treads separate ways
And still not see their lust filled dream
But blames each other of wasted days.

Though love that falls on enchanting eyes
Has tempted me to look its way
It can’t replace the precious times
That I have loved thee day to day.
