No Hope Inn
No Hope Inn
There aint no class at No Hope Inn
plastic sheets and a plastic bin
neon lights to an all night bar
the bar mans teeth are stained with tar
no hope girls that work the night
pay an hourly rate to fight the fight
to feed the habit that drives them on
when the needle pierce, all troubles gone
the morning breaks with another sin
just another tragic tale from No Hope Inn
Weekend couples with rings to hide
mix things up with a fresh new ride
spend their nights with curtains drawn
unwitting actors in illegal porn
watching in, the man with the evil eyes
and a face that makes the children cry
he’s got a secret no one knows
and a soul as twisted as his broken nose
he smokes a role up through his nasty grin
hiding out at No Hope Inn
Traders meet at a neutral place
to hide away from the police who chase
No Hope Inn, where no one stares
no questions asked, no one cares
A different room at the same motel
sells one way tickets straight to hell
there’s a hole in the wall through which someone spies
from the room that’s rented by the man with the evil eyes
he’s out on business, doing god knows what
and the police car in the car park only thickens the plot
Now the night shift consist of five members of staff
Harry on the bar, waitress Sally and cleaner Kath
a Security guard named Bill
and the manager in his office with his fingers in the till
the manager moonlights as a pimp and Bill his right hand man
Sally’s his girlfriend, he said he’d kill her if she ran
the man with the evil eyes is back safely in his room
he fails to notice, leaning in the corner a shovel and a broom
the police man leaves his car and walks slowly to the bar
Harry has his envelope ready, he sees him coming from afar
The traders deals have gotten ever bigger
bags of dust and money, fingers on the trigger
the man with the evil eyes prepares, it’s almost time for him to move
three dealers high as hell with everything to prove
Mickey is the brains, he knows what moves to play
but brains need brawn so Mickey has to pay
Steve and Dave, the meanest dogs around
music pumped up loud, hides the footsteps on the ground
outside the door, with his back against the wall
the cop anticipates a quite substantial haul
Downstairs at the bar, it all got out of hand
Bill’s straightening out the girls, trying to loose their brand
the manager is slapping Sally, Harry pours another drink
with an evil eye pressed to his spy hole, the man daren’t even blink
but a gun shot from the bar, puts everyone’s plans on hold
a gun in Harry’s hand, the manager lying cold
Bill runs in with a shot gun spitting led
blood splattered on the walls, two girls and Harry shot dead
Mickey peers through the window, to see what’s going down
he sees a silhouette of a cop and says, “Oh shit boys I think we’ve just bin found”
The man with the evil eyes sees the writing on the wall
he smashes through the cardboard partition and the bodies begin to fall
Bill paces up and down, confused and deep in shock
Sally pulls herself together and a small revolver from the managers’ sock
Harry had died protecting her, he killed to set her free
now Sally knew just what to do, murder in the first degree
upstairs in the traders room, the walls are painted red
Mickey gravely wounded, Steve and Dave both dead
along with the man with the evil eyes, who’s lying face down on the floor
with the shooting long since over, the cop kicks through the door
Everyone is dead except Mickey who’s soon to go
the cop collects the money and the suitcase full of blow
he checks through the hole in the wall, to ensure he’s in the clear
broom and shovel in the corner, closet not quite shut, is that a heartbeat he can hear?
Kath hidden in the closet, she hopes he’ll let her be
as the door swings open, with no trace of emotion the cop says, “In death I’ll set you free”
hands around her neck, survival fought in desperate tries
sunglasses lost in the fight, Kath realizes the cop has his brothers’ evil eyes
I’m in too deep, I’m sorry I just can’t take any chances
maybe you could have lived in different circumstances
With Mickey dying breath he fired justice in a shot
when the police made their report the reasons had been forgot
ten people dead, no explanation could be found
and whatever happened to the two employees? some say they left town
mystery also surrounds the two brothers, the felons with the evil eyes
they’d killed forty seven known people and were often in disguise
people say the manager was in the mob, they say he was right in there
no-one asked about Harry or the girls, no-one seemed to care
except for Kath and Sally who wipe their eyes with twenty dollar bills and rest their feet upon a suit case full of blow
carrying out Harry’s plan, all the way down to a beach in Mexico
I heard this story sat at a bar in the sun, drinking Tequila and Gin
falling in love with a waitress with the saddest eyes and the saddest tale about a place called No Hope Inn
