Driving Lesson

As she was pushed over
Without resistance
Her head fell over the shoulder of the chair
She waited those the aged seconds
Facing the textured zigzag weave of the seatbelt
Why had she worn those panties

She saw through the back of her head
And froze and crawled at his glare at her vulnerability
She damned the arrival of womanhood
Unmoving
Acceptance of a situation she would never have accepted
A skirt wasn't the choice was it

The expected and imagined movement behind her
Paid deference to her compliance
He slid the material on its lining
Exposing her thigh
Her roundness
Her self

Their World flowed around the island of that car
As her World condensed
Desperately
An incident to remain long after other memories had faded
A turning point
And she would never conclude why
