the wind and rain
slides down my window pane
concealing all i want to see
the darkness enshrouding me
from all i want to be
i can no longer hide
behind the shimmery mask
that fogs my outer view
to free me from my past
my breath against it all
i write my story upon it
to set me free at last
from all that resides inside
and wash away the tears
