Radiation
Sunlight on my skin
Will always burn and
Thick summer air suffocates me
With grave memories
Of the months I was a hollow shell,
Rattling around inside myself.
No foundation; no line to reel me back in.
And whenever I come across
Skin ink-stained and scarred
Twisting, turning and sharp
Like how yours coiled around me-
Larger, so much larger -
Stealing whatever purity was left
Replaced with the poison
Of a life moving much too fast.
I came to learn that
Taking burning water from
A man in a cramped room with
Dirty sheets is just the same
As asking for it.
Will always burn and
Thick summer air suffocates me
With grave memories
Of the months I was a hollow shell,
Rattling around inside myself.
No foundation; no line to reel me back in.
And whenever I come across
Skin ink-stained and scarred
Twisting, turning and sharp
Like how yours coiled around me-

Stealing whatever purity was left
Replaced with the poison
Of a life moving much too fast.

Taking burning water from
A man in a cramped room with
Dirty sheets is just the same
As asking for it.
