Quantum Leap's

We take giant quantum leaps  
then a giant leap back  
we take two steps forward  
then two steps back  
We reach for the stars  
we reach for the lasers  
sometimes we get to far  
faster then photons    
and quasars.  
Our knowledge is the sum    
of our parts  
but our parts our barbaric  
meat is murder  
murder has us beat  
from the top of our heads  
to the bottom of our feet.  
we war with nations  
kill without a whim  
bow to legislation  
in rivers of blood we swim.  
   
Louis Armstrong once sung  
"what a wonderful world"  
Louis my dear fellow  
i may have to disagree,  
The world may be wonderful  
but some of the people sure ain't,  
sure it has some heroes    
and a handful of saints,  
but why does it feel    
its two steps forward  
three steps back.  
If we sat in a room  
though the chances are steep  
maybe we could all get along?  
now that would be a quantum leap!!
