Facing the Sea

waves breaking on the shore
an amber glow over the water
starting out over the sea
longing to be free
memories of the past eroded
like stones in the see
forever turning always moving
breaking down jagged edges
to become a polished surface
all the details lost
forever standing sentry
so solitary
the sun casts it's glow
cascading rays of warmth
the waves they push away
so desperate to be free
