Reoccuring Screams

Kindergarten, a young age for a heart to harden, you got cheated of your life, when your life was just barely startin'
Devastated by the daily things ya seen,
most people call it a nightmare, but for you it's the real thing
It's real mean, but forgive me for what I'm sayin', while other kids in the park playin', you just sit in the dark prayin'
It makes me sick to think, for a childhood, that's damn rough,
to be too old to forget, but ya too young to stand up
His hands are so filthy, prayin' "God come and kill me",
"Why'd ya let him feel me, really, mama ya just as guilty"
Now your 29 drinkin' wine, out of a bag, on the street,
it's all you've got, aside from fragile heart, and calloused feet
But you'd never stoop so low, to rob a kids innocence,
you play the highway, usin' syringes as instruments
Now you try to stay unconscious, but you often wake up frightened,
hard to forget your past life when, you look just like him
Addin' to the spoon, so soon, you'll stop cryin',
too hurt to face the pain, so you live life hidin'
