Oxygen
You were my oxygen,
when you left me, you left me gasping for air,
how unfair, but that's life
or so I am told,
Stand tall, be bold
fortune will favor you!
But this is completely untrue.
life is a series of let downs and pull ups
maintain a healthy life, body, and wallet
and you too will be desired.
But some of us don't fit this mold,
some of us were never meant to set, and hold, or be permanent.
And my love for you was true,
you say you don't know what love is?
girl you must be blind,
I made sure it was around you all the time.
I reminded you hourly if I could
My life for your's was not a question,
it was merely understood.
This was a given truth, a simple fact of life.
You traded this for ... well what you have now.
And you can call freedom if you'd like,
but I never gave you a cell.
leaving me to find that was..
the same as turning on a light
because the Sun from outside was too bright,
it doesn't make sense.
but I hope you find what you're looking for,
and I hope it's not me, because baby,
you closed that door...
