I Let It Hit Me
I let it hit me,
take you away,
pride myself in shame,
cloth myself - walking with the lame.
I let it hit me,
the streets,
the drugs,
the mules - all in one hug.
I let it hit me,
take all that we are made of,
maybe a little brittle matter,
and the sun would be our Mad Hatter.
I let it hit me,
as it stood right besides me,
I hadn't noticed,
that it was ment to hold this.
It was ment to hold us together,
but just like Eve,
I let it hit me.
The deceit,
the lies,
all that pain,
we have feared for in vain.
I let it hit me
take you away,
pride myself in shame,
cloth myself - walking with the lame.
I let it hit me,
the streets,
the drugs,
the mules - all in one hug.
I let it hit me,
take all that we are made of,
maybe a little brittle matter,
and the sun would be our Mad Hatter.
I let it hit me,
as it stood right besides me,
I hadn't noticed,
that it was ment to hold this.
It was ment to hold us together,
but just like Eve,
I let it hit me.
The deceit,
the lies,
all that pain,
we have feared for in vain.
I let it hit me
