Scenery

“Be quiet I’m enjoying the scenery” you say to me

What made you believe you were ever worthy of love?
Was it the whisperings while they slip inside you?
Did you let yourself believe that you could ever be more than the whore they want you to be?
Have any of them ever wanted you to be more?

Like one of the dogs on the street
They give you a pat and a treat and then tell you to beat it
Did you really think I was going to take you home with me?
Your no trophy

You’re just a warm place to be
For a minute or two
And hey, I’ll even feed you
If that’s what it takes
But don’t fool yourself into believing I actually love you

So, be quiet
I’m enjoying the scenery
I don’t want to hear your story
You know what I want
And nothing more
